8.23 Built to Spill's Doug Martsch to release solo album Sept 10

According to the Built to Spill Mailing List, BTS frontman Doug Mattsch is releasing a solo album titled "Now You Know" September 10. Martsch will also be perfoming at the Showbox in Seattle on Sept 6 and then embarking oone month tour in October. Tour dates

8.23 Pearl Jam new album release date set

The Pearl Jam Rumor Pit reports that the new Pearl Jam album will be released November 12. No word on the title of the record. The first single "I Am Mine" will be released October 8, with the b-side "Down".

8.23 764-HERO to disband following Bumbershoot appearance

According to Pitchfork, 764-HERO will be playing their final show August 30 at Bumbershoot. No reason was given for their breakup. For more details see, the official 764-HERO web site.

7.29 Sub Pop taking pre-orders for new Mudhoney album

You can now preorder the new Mudhoney album Since We've Become Translucent from Sub Pop Records, thru the web site at www.subpop.com or by calling 1-800-SUB-POP1. The album will be released August 20.

7.1 Sleater-Kinney to tour West Coast to support new album


According to Pitchfork, Sleater Kinney will kick off a 13 date West Coast tour starting September 11 in Denver and finalizing with two shows at Seattle's Showbox September 28 & 29. The album, One Beat, will be released on Kill Rock Stars September 11. Pitchfork reports that the first pressing of the album will come packaged with a bonus disc.

This is in addition
to three July shows in Seattle, Portland, and at Coney Island in New York.

According to Coup De Grace, the official Shawn Smith fan site, the new Brad album will be called Welcome to Discovery Park and it will be released August 13 on the Redline label.

Nirvana's greatest hits album may surface this year, according to Pitchfork. It appears an agreement has been made between the Grohl/Novoselic camp and Courtney Love. The album may include the rare "You Know You're Right" track... Mark Lanegan will be entering the studio in July to work on his new record...
